LocalPBN
LocalPBN is a link-building service founded by James Ranks. It restores real, dropped local business websites and hands each client one contextual homepage link they control.
What the service does
Most local link networks are the same rotating set of directory-style domains handing out links to whoever pays. LocalPBN takes a different starting point: real local businesses that closed, rebranded or let their domain lapse, but that had a genuine trading history in a real place.
Each of those domains is restored as a standalone site for one industry, in one city, built around the business that actually operated there. A Google Business Profile is set up for it. The site then carries one contextual, in-content link back to a single client on its homepage: never a directory, never a marketplace, never resold to a second buyer.
- Real history. Every site is a restored business, not a domain registered purely to hold a link.
- Local presence. A Google Business Profile is set up on every site LocalPBN builds.
- One client per site. The link is never shared, resold, or rotated to another buyer.
- Branded by default. Anchor text favours the client's brand name over exact-match keywords.
Why restored local sites matter
Local search and AI answer engines both reward history and place. A site with a genuine operating history in a real city carries a different weight than a fresh domain with no trading record behind it. Sourcing and rebuilding that kind of site at scale, one client at a time, is what LocalPBN exists to do.
LocalPBN grew out of the same local-domain sourcing work James Ranks does for his own portfolio, offered as a managed service to other operators who need the same kind of link without building and maintaining the network themselves.
Who it is for
LocalPBN is built for local service businesses: trades, home services, clinics, practices, studios, and law firms that need one link they actually control, from a site with a real local history behind it.
